Physiotherapy, Sports Massage and Other Services

Physiotherapy

PhysiotherapyPhysiotherapy is a proven method of treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal disorders including spinal pain, joint aches and pains and ligament and muscle sprains and strains.

At Physiokinetic, we provide a holistic approach to treatment.  This involves a detailed assessment resulting in a diagnosis and timescale for recovery.  Treatment is focussed on alleviating symptoms as well as addressing the causes to prevent recurrence.  It will involve a combination of manual therapy techniques, education and the provision of an individual home exercise plan.

Our success is based on an honest and hard working approach to patient care allowing individuals to achieve their aspirations and goals. Our diagnosis and treatment is formulated by years of experience as well as an up to date knowledge of the latest medical evidence.  We are proud as a company that our greatest referral source is word of mouth from previous customers.

Sports Massage

Sports MassageSports massage is the assessment and manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the human body; the ligaments, tendons, muscles and fasciae.

It can be used at all stages of participation from training and conditioning, pre and post competition and during injury rehabilitation.

This form of treatment is a highly effective way of identifying and treating areas of specific tension in tissues which if left untreated could lead to pain and injury.

Podiatry

PodiatryAn average adult human being walks 5-6,000 steps per day.  This number significantly increases with exercise.  The foot is designed to deal with this repetitive loading and the associated stresses; however, symptoms can occur with poorly designed footwear, obesity and abnormal lower limb biomechanics.

Podiatry is the branch of medicine involved in the diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle and lower limb disorders.  Podiatrists undertake biomechanical analysis, primarily of the bony and soft tissue structures of the ankle and foot.

Management strategies involve footwear advice, home exercises, manual therapy techniques, injection therapy and the potential provision of orthotics.
