Physiokinetic Ltd open for face-to-face consultations subject to initial telephone / online health screening

Physiokinetic Limited are open for face to face appointments at both of our clinics.  Face to face (F2F) appointments can proceed following completion of a screening questionnaire done at the time of booking. This enables us to ensure that an appointment can take place as safely as possible and that all patients offered a F2F booking are aware of the risks involved of attending during a pandemic.  This is in line with government and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy guidance regarding medical appointments.  All Physiokinetic clinicians have received both of their Covid vaccinations.

Here are some key points, from our COVID-19 policy and risk assessment about face to face consultations. More details can be found in our COVID-19 Patient Information Leaflet and our short video on face-to-face consultations:

  1. In accordance with the latest CSP guidelines, all patients will be screened prior to a face to face appointment.  This will take place on the phone at the time of booking.  Whilst less common now, this allows us to identify anyone who might be at higher risk of serious Covid infection and manage their booking appropriately.
  2. In some instances, a face-to-face appointment will not be required e.g. when a face-to-face appointment is not sought or wanted by the customer.  In some instances, a face-to-face appointment will be contraindicated due to health or a combination of other risk factors including age and vaccination status.  With all of the above, we can continue via a virtual appointment.
  3. If attending a face-to-face consultation, you will be sent a consent form and information leaflet to read. You (and anyone attending with you) will be required to complete the consent form electronically on the day of the appointment.
  4. If you need someone else to attend the appointment with you (e.g. a parent or guardian), they will also be subject to pre-appointment and in-clinic screening.
  5. Your therapist will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in line with latest Public Health England (PHE) guideline and will wash their hands before/after every consultation for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  6. You will be required to wear a face mask throughout the appointment.  We are continuing with facemasks due to our team being in close proximity to a number of patients every day.  This reduces the risk of spread of any infection but also helps ensure that we can continue to provide our normal level of service by avoiding staff absence due to contracting Covid-19.
  7. You will be required to sanitise your hands upon attending the clinic. You will be given gloves if you need to touch any equipment during your appointment (i.e. weights, resistance bands).
  8. All treatment surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant solution between appointments.
  9. We will maintain 2 metres social distance during the appointment wherever possible.
  10. We will not accept cash. All payments will be with card or mobile phone contactless payment or via the IZettle payment link that we can send directly to you prior to the appointment.
  11. We will review our policy regularly and we will make changes in line with the latest guidelines and scientific evidence.
